Fortview Farm
It all began when as an apprentice motor mechanic I fitted a clutch in an International B275 tractor and a pair of shocks on an Austin Cambridge for a local farmer. While walking up the lane from the farm yard to the farm house to get the obligatory cup of tea, having finished the job the farmer offered me four aged Ewes as payment. Having been born and reared in a Housing Trust (Council) house in town I had no where to graze them so I opted for the £20 he owed me instead. A week later while visiting two old bachelor uncles I happen to mention the offer to them, I was told to go back and see if I could return the £20.00 and get the sheep they would get me grazing for them. The farmer agreed and kept the sheep for several months to allow them to run with the Tip and make sure they were in lamb. The following spring my stock grew when they had six lambs..........................
