New Diagram for HA-6 Work in progress
26/12/17 Well she's up and running again albeit with little wind. Got new blades fitted greased everything that moves so hoping for a trouble free Turbine. See images of new blades on our "Latest Turbine" page. Short video above more to follow time permitting.
27/12/16 Good news after a long wait amd some personal problems Santa brought me a set of Aluminium Blades for HA6. Hoping to get her down check for damages, service her and modify the rotor shaft to accomadate the new hub and blade assembly.
25/11/15 Disaster struck last Friday night unexpected high winds ( not forecast) wrecked the blades on HA-6 don't think I can be bothered making a new set.
28-10-15 Ordered new inverter 2 days ago checked the old one today when setting the timer for GMT, damn thing is working again! now I have 2 sods law rules! All set for another winter.
05-08-15 230v inverter stopped working a few weeks ago dismantled it but couldn't find anything wrong. Re-assembled it and connected it up no good still not working!
13-01-15 Had about 3 weeks of good wind and all going well. Used manual furling on one occasion when 50-60 MPH winds were forecast apart from that automatic furling has been working satisfactorily. Timer/Relay circuit for inverter is operating as intended and with the controller dump load in place I have a very sweet running turbine.
10-1-15 New simplified wiring schematic see above
20-12-14 New image of Control Panel almost there!
18-12-14 Managed to find a 12 volt timer (£3.85 inc. P&P) and I now have timer and relay connected up to inverter and working also. The timer circuit will make big savings on power not to mention wear and tear on the Inverter as its only powered up for the hours I need it. LED Security lighting is working on 12v system. New Control Panel cabinet is bursting at the seams think I may have underestimated the number of wires and fuses needed.
8-12-14 Got water heater element cobbled together and connected on the 6th evening as batteries were pushing over 14.2 volts. Ran an equalisation cycle set at 14.1v. After cycle it resumed charging at 13.8v before eventually dropping back to 13.6v the preset Float voltage. Got a surprise on the 7th morning when I had a bucket of hot water (temporary hot water tank). Looks like the Tristar Controller does what it says. Curious to see if equalisation cycle has managed to balance the batteries and leave them all at the same voltage/specific gravity.
26-11-14 Control Diagram almost finished at last
18-11-14 12 volt PIR floodlight arrived and working amazing the light from a 12v 10w LED
15-11-14 New Diagram for HA-6 (sorry work still in progress)
12-11-14 Almost completed Control Panel Upgrade (see Pics above) waiting on timer, 12 volt PIR floodlight, Regulator and Dump load arriving.
1-11-14 Just got some new batteries and in the process of upgrading the control panel. Managed to acquire 14 x 2 volt milk float batteries from our local dairy Draynes Farm Lisburn. As usual the wind hasn't blown for days so will have to wait to see how they perform.
Have decided to run 12 volt LED PIR flood lighting direct from batteries as these new LED bulbs are so efficient
18-10-13 Homemade yard scraper and snow plough fitted to a Honda TRX350 quad . The fully floating plough blade allows the scraper to follow the contour of the ground perfectly. Fitted or removed in less than one minute. Great for leaves, manure and I don't see why not for snow also. Have found it useful for leveling stones soil etc. (See Video below)
09-04-2013 All running smooth so far, steady output see control panel on images page.
23-4-2013 Getting cocky now let her run in forecast 50 mph gusts and she dealt with it fine.
25-3-2013 Chris came up with the goods see "The Alternator" on HA-6 3FP page
18-3-2013 HA-6 is living upto expectations and is exceeding the Rated output of 300 watts. Rev's calculated from Hertz frequency approx. 400 RPM. Sorry I don't know wind speed as we can't find software for the Anemometer
